The Zebra DS8200 series is a range of advanced 1D/2D handheld barcode scanners developed for modern environments where speed, accuracy, and reliability are crucial. Within this series are models including the corded DS8208 and the cordless DS8288, both working with a high-resolution 2 MP sensor to capture barcodes in one motion. The scanners read classic 1D codes, 2D codes such as QR, and can handle problem codes like worn, dirty, or low-resolution barcodes, reducing errors and waiting times at the checkout.

Thanks to the combination of corded USB/RS-232 connections and wireless Bluetooth variants, they are deployable in retail, warehouse management, logistics sorting, and production environments. The scanners integrate with common POS systems, PCs, and other terminals via standard interfaces and can be easily configured via configuration barcodes, simplifying rollout and management. The DS8200 series is included in Codipack’s offering as a partner solution and this is not a Codipack development, but a Zebra product delivered through Codipack.

  • Software/Integration: Supports configuration via scannable setup barcodes and integration with Zebra drivers and management tools.

The DS8200 series reads virtually all common 1D and 2D barcodes, including UPC/EAN, QR codes, and other 2D symbols, and can also process worn, dirty, or low-resolution barcodes.

The DS8208 is the corded variant with fixed connection via e.g. USB or RS-232, while the DS8288 is a wireless Bluetooth scanner with similar scan performance but more freedom of movement.

The scanners are mainly used in retail at checkout, in warehouses for inventory management, in logistics for shipment and package scans, and in production environments for parts and DPM tracing.

Integration is via standard interfaces such as USB and RS-232 and, for wireless models, via Bluetooth; settings and parameters can be configured by scanning configuration barcodes and, where available, using Zebra software and drivers.
