The Wireless Networker 802.11a/b/g family of client adapters from Symbol Technologies delivers enterprise-class high-bandwidth wireless connectivity for laptop and desktop computers. Available in CardBus and PCI form factors, the Wireless Networker client adapters offer maximum flexibility, integrating seamlessly into wireless switch and access point-based wireless networks. The tri-mode radio design ensures interoperability with widely-deployed 802.11b systems while providing support for mission-critical applications with high bandwidth requirements. Standards-based support of wireless protocols and Wi-Fi certification ensures interoperability with third-party wireless infrastructure. WHQL certification guarantees driver compatibility with Windows operating systems, enabling fast and easy integration of portable and desktop PCs into the wireless infrastructure.

Powerful Standards-Based Security

TWPA-certified support of strong encryption and authentication mechanisms guarantees interoperability with third-party hardware and software security solutions. The future-ready Wireless Networker is equipped with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) hardware to support the upcoming IEEE 802.11i security standard. The Wireless Networker client adapters and software ensure secure data transmissions with support for standards-based security mechanisms, including Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP), and EAP authentication mechanisms including TLS, TTLS, PEAP-MS-CHAPv2 and PEAP-GTC.

Network Perimeter Protection

In addition to data protection, the Wireless Networker adapters also protect the network perimeter from unauthorized access via rogue access points. The adapters periodically scan the radio frequency environment, and work in conjunction with Symbol infrastructure systems to immediately notify network administrators if unauthorized access points are detected.
