The Digi 3 Coder is the newest in a long line of high
quality hot foil coding attachments for packaging and
labelling machinery from Open Date. It is particularly
suited to overprinting batch and lot numbers, expiry
dates, use by dates and prices onto flexible packaging
materials including films, labels and cartons.
A comprehensive range of features are included as
standard with the Digi 3 Coder yet it is priced for the
budget conscious user who does not want to
compromise on quality.

An electronic control unit incorporating a digital display
is built into the Digi 3 Coder which enables the print
head temperature and the print cycle time to be set
very precisely. This in turn allows fine adjustments to
be made in order to maximise print quality and for
settings to be recorded for future reference.
The Digi 3 Coder uses a stepper motor to drive the
printing foil through the printer. This combined with
accurate adjustment via the electronic controls and
consistent tension provided by the foil brake system on
the foil magazine enables foil wastage to be kept to an
absolute minimum.
